My Counselling Approach

The therapeutic relationship is predicated on trust and discretion, offering a secure, impartial environment where clients are listened to without prejudice.

My objective is to create a safe space for you to delve into your thoughts and feelings, offering guidance when you're uncertain about your life's direction. My approach to counselling is characterized by openness to your unique experiences, with the intention of assisting you in understanding your challenges better and partnering with you in your pursuit of self-awareness, personal development, and wellbeing.

I employ an integrative approach with clients, utilizing person-centred, psychodynamic, and transpersonal models. This approach facilitates the exploration of your current experiences and the influence of your past on your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. When suitable, I incorporate transpersonal elements, encouraging you to investigate deeper aspects of your selfhood, identity, and existence.

I have successfully worked with clients dealing with a range of issues such as anxiety, depression, bereavement, life changes, self-esteem, and self-worth. Additionally, I handle existential issues like loss of purpose or direction, relationship difficulties, co-dependency, and stress. As a trauma-informed counsellor, I have experience working with Complex PTSD and issues related to sexuality and concerns unique to the LGBTQ+ community.

In addition, as a couples counsellor trained by Relate, I utilize systemic and psychodynamic models to comprehend the internal and external problems that could be creating challenges in your relationship.
